Pieridae Photograph by Stavros Apostolou Orange Tip on Silene colorata The male has distinct orange tips to its front wings, the female has grey. The wingspan is 40-45 mm (medium). It is widespread in Greece and throughout Europe. It flies from Spring to mid-summer.

The caterpillars feed on Pelagoniums and are a pest in gardens and on balconies where they are grown. Flies in the hottest months only.
