Recognise the insect* life and plant parasites on Mt Hymettos
The flora and physical habitats of Mt Hymettos influence the species of insects which can survive there. These range from the eye-catching male Orange tip, to the destructive Processional caterpillar to the secretive Banded centipede, but they all have their role to play in the ecology of the mountain.
*Insect is used here in its broadest definition to include spiders and centipedes etc. and also gastropods like snails and slugs.
