Swallowtail

A large butterfly with a wingspan of 70-80 mm. It is widespread in Greece, Europe, Africa and Asia. It flies all year apart from the coldest winter months. The caterpillar feeds on rue, Ruta graveolens or Ruta chalepensis, both of which are to be found on Mt Hymettos.
